La Changuería Tote
For decades, we were told to "leave it" (¡Deja la changuería!). They treated our big feelings and sensory needs like something to be discarded or left at the door.
We decided to open up shop instead.
Welcome to La Changuería. Established in Puerto Rico (1986) and open 24/7, this is the place where big emotions, sensory boundaries, and neurodivergent joy are always on the menu.
Inspired by Camil Aponte's upcoming memoir, ¡No Seas Tan Changa!, this tote bag reclaims the term. It’s designed to look like the vintage signage of a local panadería or colmado—because our sensitivity isn't a "phase"; it’s a staple of who we are.
Note from the Author: Don't leave the changuería behind. Pack it up, take it with you, and remember that having "big feelings" is just part of the service here.
